Survived the storm

Well, I had one day off from the blizzard. It was a nice break in the middle of the week. I worked 12 hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday then another 8 on Friday. About halfway through Friday my boss came over and asked if I was interested in working Saturday. Ummmmmm NO, I am not. I have been pulling between 50 and 60 hour weeks for months , because of the snow day I only had 44 hours this week. Apparently, we have been flooded with orders, which is a good thing, but I refuse to put in 70+ hours a week. It is not as if I have a sit down job. It is very physical and I really don't want to work myself into an early grave. Maybe it is time to hire on a second shift crew for this area.

Geez, ya'd think during holiday times AND with increased orders, someone WOULD hire some "temps" to pick up some of the slack...
That's just good business sense.

Bosses TODAY just don't seem to have a grasp of management the way they used to all those years ago.

They just plow the heck ahead...and that's NO way to keep morale up and the workers happy (enough to not be looking for another job, that is).
Been there, done that before.

Take it easy.
