It's Here!!!!

It is officially vacation time!!!!!! Ten whole days to myself. (more or less) Ten days with no Queen of Whine and her mini-me. Ten days of sleeping past 4:00 a.m. No moving a ton of paper through the grinder. No boss calling to say she forgot to add an order that needs to ship out yesterday due to some spill somewhere. No calling maintenance to come fix a machine that seems to magically break itself. (Ok, That I might miss) But I am betting you all get the idea.

Two more days

I only have two more work days until vacation. Today just seemed to fly by. I have some tentative plans for a few of my days off, but I am really just looking forward to sleeping late :D (at least till 7)

Countdown until Obama leaves Office

A friend on facebook gave me this wonderful link. I am going to figure out how to permanently link that sucker on here, somewhere, some how.

Countdown until Obama leaves Office.

Stanford requests jail transfer; cites hot, crowded, windowless cell

HOUSTON— Texas billionaire R. Allen Stanford has filed a motion to move to a different jail, citing “oppressive” conditions at the Joe Corley Detention Facility.
(Oh no, you poor, poor thing)

Through DeGuerin, Stanford claims that for at least a week, his jail has had no air conditioning.
(Many, many homes in the Unites States don't have a/c, why the heck should a jail???)

According to the motion, there are no windows in the cell, and the conditions are intolerable.
(It's a jail for God sake!! And you obviously did something BAD to end up there )

Stanford is being held without bond while awaiting trial on charges that he swindled investors out of $7 billion.
(I rest my case)

mutant fruit

We picked up some grapes at Sam's club a couple days ago, and I was astonished at the size of them. These things were bigger than my thumb! I took a picture of them surrounding a soda bottle top, to give you an idea of just how huge they are. Now tell me someone isn't out there playing around with enhancing food production, in a Doctor Jekyll - Mr. Hyde sort of way.

We got RAIN!!

I kid you not folks. We finally got some very much needed rain last night. Granted, not as bad as the southwestern half of the state was hit. Some of those areas received between 3 and 5 inches of the stuff, but they also got hail, ranging in size from tennis ball to friggin baseball size. (I'm very glad we didn't get that) I was so excited this morning when I woke up to take the dogs outside, and there were PUDDLES in the driveway :D

Every time I read the news, I see something new the great and mighty O has done, that has made him appear even more foolish than he already looked. At the rate he is going, I may need to buy stock in Advil and Duct tape. The latest being the Gates fiasco. Open mouth, insert feet ashhat. And if he makes one friggin' more television appearance, while our great nation slips into the $hitter, they may hear me scream all the way to the coasts. Both of them!

Well, that was the extent of the rain we got today, those few pitiful drops on the windshield of my jeep. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Pardon the poor picture quality, I took that with my phone, at lunchtime, at work.

Michigan unemployment rate 15.2%

Normally I don't post political stuff on my blog. But this one just stood right the heck up and bit me.

Michigan unemployment tops 15%

Michigan became the first state in 25 years to suffer an unemployment rate exceeding 15%, according to a report released Friday by the Labor Department.

Full story can be found here.

Well now, I was informed back when they bailed out the major auto makers, that jobs would be saved, and new ones created. Would someone like to explain just where all these saved jobs are? Because it sure as heck doesn't look like they are in Michigan. You know, Michigan, the one that was gonna lose everything without that bailout, because they have so many people employed in auto manufacturing??? Maybe someone would like to tell them they must be full of chit. Because the Great and powerful O swore up and down this was gonna save them. And our wonderful Prez would NEVER lie to us. (now would he)

Doesn't this make you feel all warm and fuzzy regarding his next project. Obamacare.

Quiet Sunday

67 degrees and sunny on this quiet Sunday afternoon. (I have completely given up on that global warming crap) As usual I have a dog laying on the floor on either side of me. Did a little laundry, a little cleaning, played mafia wars and just relaxed. Nothing real exciting. (which is always good, had enough excitement for the month) Two more weeks of work, then it's vacation time! Woohoo!! Still haven't figured out what I'm going to do with ten days off though.

How was your Friday?

Well, let me tell you about mine.

I finished making supper around 5:45. Sat down to eat. One dog on either side of me, which is normal. Finished eating about 6:15. Speared a piece of scrap on my fork, to save for the bigger dog, and turned away for 2 seconds to give the pup his scrap, when WHAM, the fork is nabbed straight out of my hand by none other than Stan, the older dog. I jerked my head around in time to see said fork disappear down Stan's mouth. OHHHHHHH $hit. I grabbed the phone book and started calling vets within a 30 mile radius to see what, if anything, could be done. Finally found one 60 miles away, in Appleton. Long drive on a Friday evening, wondering just what this was going to cost. 7:30 I load up the hound and head out. Get on the other side of Green Bay, and get a double whammy. Road construction! Forcing the normal 2 south bound lanes, into one. And pouring rain. (where the heck is ours??) Do you know what it is like, driving through a maze of orange striped barrels, in pouring rain, worrying about your passenger? Fookin' nerve wracking. Get to the vet (with only one wrong turn, mind you) and sit in the waiting room for 30 minutes. Finally get called back, only to wait another 15 minutes for the doctor. Kids start texting as soon as I get in the exam room. (Psychic or what.) (One of those texts came from my daughter, asking if I was sure he swallowed it, because they had found one on the floor. Yep, I know he swallowed it, I saw it go down.) He checks out Hoover Stan and says we need x-rays, to see where the fork was located. A friggin hour later, they bring my dog back. So the Doc loads up his computer, turns the screen so I can see it, and NO FORK! They took x-rays from stem to stern, and it wasn't there. When I explained to him that I saw the fork going down, he said more than likely Stan coughed it back up, and to watch in case he scratched his esophagus doing so. Total cost to moi? $250 and 4 hours of my time between travel and visit. It was worth it. My psychotic hound is worth that and more. I was so dayemed relieved, I almost cried. (Stan is the big yellow one, under the puppy)

So, how was your Friday?

Citizen Self Arrest

I was over at Police Diver's blog when I read this little gem. (go ahead and read it, I'll wait here)

Back? OK. Now, I requested permission to print it out, and brought a copy to work. Let's just say I had most everyone in my department laughing. Now picture this...... I am the second youngest one working in our area. And at 42, I am not exactly a teenager anymore. (The oldest one in our area is 70) We were discussing things we could arrest ourselves for, when my evil twin (my other self) popped in with this conundrum. Who does the pat down? Do you frisk yourself, or wait for the arresting officer? I personally vote for waiting for an officer, it's always better to have a professional do such things, especially one with a LOT of experience. ;) Besides, if you do it yourself, you may miss something. Now for the flip side of the coin. If you are suppose to frisk yourself, and refuse, would it be considered resisting arrest? And if so, would you then have to amend the current charges to reflect the new one also?
(everytime some one came into our little corner of the plant looking for something, we'd tell them "oh, go frisk yourself" then burst out laughing again)

(admit it, now I have you thinking in circles like I do :D welcome to my world)

Wis. bear population up sixfold over last 20 years

MADISON(AP) - State officials say the number of bears in Wisconsin has increased sixfold in the last 20 years.
Ed Culhane says there are about 30,000 bears in the state. There were about 5,000 a few decades back.

Full story is here

We have had quite a few sightings of bears around here. Now if we could get the wolf population back up also, we should have a better wildlife balance.

mafia wars

I love to play Mafia Wars, on facebook. I was reading some of the other peoples comments and came across this gem :D

"Men always whine about how we suffocate them. But surely, if you can still hear them whining, then you're not pushing down on the pillow hard enough!!"

(yeah, I found it funny, I'm evil that way)

They Lied

We were told afternoon showers/storms. It is now 6:30 p.m. The sun is shining, it is a very breezy 85 degrees, and there are a few cotton ball clouds in the sky.
Where the heck is my RAIN???

Stupid lazy people

I love my job. Everyday that I wake up and am still employed is a great day to me.
Yesterday was not a good day. I came the closest I have ever come to striking another human being. I actually had to walk away before the brain could send the signal to my hand. I work with a lady, I call her the "Queen of Whine". Her husband was fired from his job last year, and still hasn't found another job. (He isn't trying very hard though) From the moment she walks in the door, right up until quitting time, she whines, complains, generally makes everyone miserable. Yesterday I had to work with her on the boom line, instead of being tucked safely in my own little corner, on the grinder, where I belong. No sooner had we started shift, she started in whining. It didn't matter what subject we tried to change the conversation too, she had a whine about it. Then the spec sheet didn't make sense to her, even after we ALL explained how to load the booms on the skid. Nope, she had to go find a supervisor to explain it to her. This person has been with the company 8 years longer than I have, and she can't remember a dayem thing from day to day. And no, there is nothing wrong with her mentally (at least not like some of you are probably thinking) She has new excuses everyday. Any little thing to delay working. When she left to go find a supervisor to explain the spec sheet I finally had enough. I excused myself and walked away for a few minutes.
If you hate your job that much, then for all of our sakes QUIT.

sunshine and more sunshine

Now most people would love to see that as their forecast for the next week. Not so much here. Things are looking mighty thirsty, from the grass to the garden to all the fields around. We have had 2 days where it misted out. It wasn't even enough to be called rain, but a light mist. I know we aren't the only ones crying for a little moisture either. So if you can spare a few drops, send them this way. PLEASE.
